AID FOR ROMANIAN CHILDREN
Our mission is to raise as much money as possible!
There are a group of 6 of us, Laura, Sarah, Amy, Mark, Ashley and Rachel along with others who are all volunteering to work in a Romanian Summer Camp. Aid for Romanian Children is a charity established by Anne and Fraser Brown, who have been visiting Romania since 1994. In that time they have been involved with work in orphanages, hospitals, schools and villages. The charity aims to alleviate the poverty and suffering of Romanian Children and their families. The Kids in Romania project in Cold Valley Roma Village is situated on the outskirts of Tirgu Mures in Transylvania. A british woman, Katie Sammons already works and lives out there with the children all year round and the charities on going work includes: -buying medicines for sick children -helping with hospital stays and visits -providing clothes (winters get down to to below - 20C) -repairing and re-roofing houses -feeding children who might otherwise go hungry -providing presents for Christmas and National Children's Day The Children's Summer Camps are organised every year by ARC volunteers and with generous help from local villagers, three camps are run for around 150 children. Every child is given two changes of clothes and assorted toiletries and toys. But most importantly, the camps are great fun, and give the children magical moments in their otherwise desperate lives. So please would you help us raise enough money for us to be able to make this programme possible. |
